Since 1955, Transports JACQUEMMOZ has established itself as a leading name in road transport, based in Modane (FR‑73), in the heart of the Savoy Alps, just across the border from Italy. The story began with Georges Jacquemmoz, who, at a time when Alpine tunnels did not yet exist, arranged rail transfers for goods arriving from Italy to be forwarded onward to major French cities. His wife, Josette Jacquemmoz, played a key role in the company’s early development. Together, they laid the foundation of a cross‑Alpine know‑how we continue to uphold today with the same level of commitment.
With the opening of the Mont Blanc tunnel in 1965 and the Fréjus tunnel in 1981, our family‑run business solidified its position on the France–Italy corridor. Today, we specialize in full‑load transport (FTL), evenly distributed between national and international networks. Our dual expertise across French and Italian markets remains one of our greatest strengths.
Our strength is based on full internal control of operations. Most journeys are carried out with our own fleet of vehicles, all driven by our salaried drivers, whether French or Italian. This fully integrated, in‑house structure allows us to deliver a reliable, responsive and tightly managed service at every stage.
